Why Is Liberty Springs Shepherds Closed to General Visitors?

The health, safety, and security of our dogs, puppies, and family will always come first.

Many people are surprised to learn that responsible breeding kennels often limit or restrict public access. This decision is not made to be secretive—it is made to protect our puppies, pregnant females, breeding dogs, property, and family.

Viruses and diseases such as Parvovirus, Kennel Cough, Distemper, intestinal parasites, and other contagious illnesses can be carried onto a property through shoes, clothing, hands, vehicles, and contact with other animals.

Newborn puppies, pregnant females, and young puppies are especially vulnerable because their immune systems are still developing.

Limiting unnecessary traffic helps reduce the risk of introducing preventable illness into our breeding program.

Our dogs are not only beloved family members—they are also valuable breeding animals that represent years of planning, training, health testing, and investment.

Unfortunately, dog theft, property crimes, harassment, and security concerns are realities that many breeders face. Restricting public access helps protect:

• Our adult dogs
• Our breeding program
• Our home and property
• Our family members
• Our clients and future puppy owners

For these reasons, we do not operate as a public facility, pet store, or open kennel.

While we maintain strict biosecurity and security protocols, we are committed to being transparent with our puppy families.

We are happy to provide:

• Photos and videos
• Video calls and virtual puppy visits
• Regular litter updates
• References from previous puppy owners
• Health testing information
• Scheduled pickup appointments
• Meetings in designated areas when appropriate

Our goal is simple: to raise healthy, well-socialized German Shepherds while maintaining the highest standards of animal care, disease prevention, and security.
